Aftercare Charles Town
Aftercare Charles Town, founded in 2013, is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to the rehoming and repurposing of retired racehorses from Charles Town Races. They work closely with horsemen and various rehoming organizations to ensure that these equine athletes find safe, loving homes and new careers after their racing days are over. Through their efforts, countless horses have been given a second chance to thrive beyond the racetrack.
Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue, Inc.
Hope's Legacy Equine Rescue, founded in 2008, began as a dedicated foster-based rescue and is now located on a 172-acre farm in Afton, Virginia. This expansive property serves as the main hub for their rescue operations, where they care for and rehabilitate horses, ponies, mules, and donkeys. Many of the animals at Hope's Legacy come from Animal Control seizures or from owners who are no longer able to care for them. The rescue is committed to providing these animals with the love and rehabilitation they need to recover from neglect and abuse, and ultimately, to find new homes or live out their lives in sanctuary.
